What we do
An EICR is a structured inspection and test of a property's fixed wiring: consumer unit, circuits, earthing and bonding, accessories and protective devices. It tells you what condition the installation is actually in, rather than what it looks like from the front of a socket.
Landlords in England need one at least every five years and at the change of tenancy. Homeowners typically want one when buying, before major work, or when a property hasn't been looked at in a decade or more.

A typical three-bedroom house takes several hours. Larger properties, or installations with lots of added circuits and outbuildings, take longer. Power needs to be off for parts of the test, so it's worth planning the day around it.
Private rented property in England requires one at least every five years and at change of tenancy. For owner-occupied homes, ten years is the usual recommendation, or sooner if the installation is old or has been altered.
C1 means danger is present and requires immediate action. C2 means potentially dangerous and requires remedial work. C3 means improvement recommended — advisory rather than mandatory. A report is only 'satisfactory' if there are no C1, C2 or FI observations.
Not automatically. A rewireable fuse board with no RCD protection will usually attract observations, but the coding depends on the condition of the installation as a whole and how it's used.
No. The report is yours. If you'd like us to price the remedials we'll do that as a separate, itemised quotation — you're free to have someone else carry it out.
No. An EICR covers the fixed installation. Portable appliance testing is a separate exercise.
