Norwich & Norfolk

Local workmanship, direct communication and one point of responsibility.

What we do

Specialist work, clearly explained

Carpentry is what makes a room look finished rather than nearly finished: tight joints, straight lines, and work scribed to walls and floors that are rarely as true as anyone would like.

Because we're electricians as well as carpenters, first fix happens at the right moment. Sockets, switches and lighting inside joinery or a new partition are designed in with you before the boards go on — not chased in afterwards.

General Carpentry

Second fix joinery, shelving, flooring, trim and timber repairs across the whole house.

  • Replacing tired skirting and architrave throughout a house
  • Fitted shelving in alcoves, studies and utility spaces
  • Laminate, engineered and solid timber floor laying

Stud Walls

Timber stud partitions built, insulated, boarded and wired, including doorways and openings.

  • Dividing one large bedroom into two
  • Forming an ensuite or shower room
  • Creating a home office or study within a larger room

Door Hanging

Internal, external and fire doors hung, with ironmongery, linings and adjustment to out-of-square openings.

  • New internal doors throughout a house
  • A single door that catches, sticks or won't stay shut
  • Replacing hollow flush doors with solid or panelled doors

Local expertise

Built around Norfolk homes

Period property across Norwich brings its own carpentry vocabulary — deep Victorian skirting profiles, original doors painted a dozen times over, floors that move, and openings that have shifted over a century. Matching existing mouldings rather than defaulting to a modern profile is usually what makes new work disappear into an old house.

Common questions

Good to know before we begin

Need a more specific answer? Call 07572 789351 and you’ll speak to the person doing the work.

Yes. A morning's work is fine — plenty of our jobs are a handful of small tasks tackled in one visit, which is usually more economical than booking them separately.

Usually. Many period profiles are available as stock or can be machined to match. If an exact match isn't possible we'll show you the closest options before ordering.

A simple non-structural partition often doesn't, but creating a new habitable room, affecting escape routes, ventilation or fire separation can. We'll flag it if we think your project needs it — we won't quietly build something that should have been notified.

Yes, provided the framing includes noggins or a pattress in the right place. Tell us what's going on the wall before we frame it and it's straightforward.

A straightforward internal door on existing hinges is often an hour or two. A door into an out-of-square opening, or one needing a new lining and architrave, takes considerably longer — the estimate will reflect which yours is.

Yes. Just make sure they're the right size for the opening — bring us the measurements before ordering if you're unsure, because oversized blanks are far easier to work with than undersized ones.
