How Acorn Electrical and Home Improvement Ltd handles the information you share with us.

01

Who we are

Acorn Electrical and Home Improvement Ltd is a domestic electrical and home improvement business based in Hassingham, Norwich, Norfolk. We are the data controller for the personal information described on this page. You can reach us on 07572 789351 or at acornelectricalhomeimprovement@gmail.com.

02

What we collect

We only collect what we need to respond to you and carry out work: your name, phone number, email address, property address or postcode, and whatever you choose to tell us about the job. If you send photographs of your property, we hold those too.

03

How we collect it

Through the enquiry form on this site, by phone, by WhatsApp, by email, or in person during a site visit. The enquiry form does not store your details on a server — it composes a message in your own email application, which you then send to us.

04

Why we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and prepare a quotation
  • To arrange and carry out the work you've asked for
  • To issue certification, invoices and receipts
  • To keep records of work carried out, as required for electrical certification
  • To contact you about a guarantee or a follow-up visit

Our lawful bases are performance of a contract, legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and running the business, and legal obligations around records and certification.

05

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for marketing. Information may be shared with our accountant, with a supplier where a delivery is being made to your address, or with a certification or regulatory body where required. WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram process messages under their own privacy terms.

06

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within twelve months. Records relating to completed work, including electrical certification and financial records, are kept for at least six years in line with tax and regulatory requirements.

07

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you may request a copy of the personal data we hold, have inaccurate data corrected, request erasure where we have no continuing obligation to retain it, and object to processing. Contact us using the details above and we'll respond within one month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

08

Security

We keep your information on password-protected devices and accounts, and limit access to those who need it to carry out the work.

09
